Lux Boreal means northern light; the company is headquartered in the Casa de la Cultura in Tijuana, Baja California; was founded in 2002, it is part of the contemporary artistic movement of northern Mexico.
The Lux Boreal stage circle is made up of choreographers, dancers and collaborators from various cities, who converge in a commitment to life through dance and have found a language to express their vision of society through art.
Lux Boreal has taken her stage proposal to dance forums and festivals throughout Mexico, has contributed greatly to the Tijuana-San Diego binational relationship in the last decade, and has represented contemporary dance from Mexico in countries on the international scene. such as Chile, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Spain, Latvia, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France, Ireland, Romania and Switzerland.
The company has a two-year graduate-level educational program endorsed in a collaboration agreement by the National Pedagogical University and the Baja California Institute of Culture.
The group was awarded the Arts Angel Award in 2018, it has been named by the American national magazine Dance Magazine 25 to WATCH, since 2008 it has been part of the Tijuana Walk of Fame, and it also received the Audience Award at the International Festival of Danza Lila López from San Luis Potosí and due to her performance within the national artistic scene, has been supported by the National Fund for Culture and the Arts through the Mexico on Stage program since 2007.
